Fall Reds
Artist Statement: Since fall has begun, all of the trees and plants near my home have begun to change color. I enjoy the contrast between the reds, yellows, and greens. I decided to take photos close up, focusing on the bright colors against the fading green. Luckily, it was also a sunny day outside, giving me the lighting and backdrop I needed to get the shadows perfect in the photo. The location is no where exciting, but I still very much enjoy the little nature around. Sleeping
My family and I visited a historic fort used in the 1800s to defend against the British stationed over in Canada (Never saw a battle). There are tons of flowers and trees surrounding the fort which all make for great pictures. I took this picture while we were walking towards the inside of the fort. Although it is a pretty simplistic flower, I find it to be very pretty amongst the yellowing grass. Sadly, the flowers will soon follow in the footsteps of the grass and hide away as winter comes. Pumpkins are one of the number one things about fall. They look good and taste good. My family always enjoys buying a couple of pumpkins for their seeds as well as for carving. The only thing I am not fond of is their cold, gooey insides. I took these pictures after we bought pumpkins and had laid them out in the yard. I enjoy the bright orange against the mellow green under them. Touch the Sky
These pictures were near the canopy tree photos. These pictures are of the very edges of the trees against the sky. The shadows of the green in the trees makes the picture more dramatic and dark. I found the tall, green trees to be very pretty against the sky, especially since they haven't fully changed colors yet. Tall Greens
More photos taken at the historic fort. I went under a small group of trees and looked up to take photos of their canopies. I enjoy the contrast between the green of the trees and the blue sky. These trees were super thick or heavy, allowing more of the sky to leak through their leaves. Again, I took photos here due to the amount of plants surrounding the fort and because of how bright everything looked. |
